BreakThrough Physical Therapy Sponsors Joint Special Operations 10K Run/5K Walk

Fayetteville, NC (PRWEB) November 06, 2013

BreakThrough Physical Therapy (BTPT) is pleased to announce it is a proud sponsor of the 17th annual Joint Special Operations 10K Run and 5K Fun Walk on November 9, 2013 at McKellar’s Lodge in Fort Bragg, NC.

The race will take place at a challenging, one-of-a-kind USA Track and Field certified course at McKellar’s Lodge and is open to all ages and abilities. All runners and walkers will receive coins signifying participation, and an awards ceremony for runners will be held immediately following the race.

Physios will be present at the BTPT tent before and after the race to conduct shoe analyses, foot posture checks, and screen runners and walkers to assess movement patterns, all of which may increase the risk of injury. Brief consultations will also be given where participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about old or current injuries, aches, and pains.

“BTPT couldn’t be more excited to participate in the JSO 10K this year,” said Kyle Botten, PT, DPT, CSCS*D. “This is a great opportunity to get out in the community, meet many new faces, and hopefully provide some valuable information regarding training, exercises, running mechanics, and the benefits of physical therapy. We’re looking forward to a wonderful start to the Veteran’s Day weekend!”

For more information on registration, the race, and to see a course map, check the Special Operators Communications Association website. Those who are unable to attend the race may schedule a free consultation with BTPT by calling the Owen Drive clinic at (910) 483.9300 or the Ramsey Street clinic at (910) 920.4903.
