Glen Akers, PT, MPT. I am an owner in ProActive Physical Therapy in Gresham, OR, and, along with my partners, have recently joined the Confluent family from out in the Pacific Northwest. I am the director of our Gresham clinic located on the eastern side of Portland, Oregon. In addition, I am in charge of expanding our occupational medicine presence in all of our clinics. I have a wife, Stacia, who is a physical therapist as well and we have 2 daughters, Katelyn 7, and Lauren, 3.
My name is Steve Alstot. I am a physical therapist and founding member in ProActive Physical Therapy in Fairview, OR, that started in 2002. I am currently co-CEO, along with Chris Tutt. My current responsibilities include oversight of all areas involving clinical operations and new clinic start ups and acquisitions. Along with my four other partners, we partnered with Confluent Health in May of this year. My Name is John Autry I am a physical therapist at Breakthrough Physical Therapy in Fayetteville, NC. I have been with the company since 2014 and recently became team leader of a clinic in January of 2017. I have completed the orthopaedic residency through EIM and received my OCS in 2016. I enjoy working hard, being outdoors, playing music and being a dad to my brand new son who arrived just a few weeks ago.
Marcia Boyce, PT is a practicing partner in ProRehab Louisville (PRL), a company of Confluent Health. Currently she is chief operating officer and manager of this quick growing out patient PT service provider which now has 11 clinics in the Louisville area. She joined ProRehab a little over 2 years ago, bringing on her 2 Louisville private practice clinics to combine with 2 PRL clinics initially. She assisted with bringing on, merging and opening the current 11 locations and now strives to actively manage the company and clinics through clinical staff development, mentoring, systems implementation, statistical analysis and effective communication.
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Andrew migrated north of the border to attend the University of Oklahoma. He graduated from OU with his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2011. He began his career with Physical Therapy Central in the Summer of 2011 in Chickasha, Oklahoma and can’t imagine working anywhere else. He has since undertaken residency training in orthopaedic manual physical therapy through EIM, received his Orthopaedic Certified Specialist credentials in 2014, and has been owner of our Chickasha clinic with Amy Lee for the past 2.5 years. He is married to his wife Maria who is a speech pathologist, and has two young boys, 3 years and 9 months–crazy house!
Dr. Brown is the Northeast Austin Clinic Director. Jason Brown attended Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he earned both a degree Kinesiology in 2008 and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2011. He completed his Orthopaedic Residency in 2011 and is also a Board Certified Orthopaedic Specialist (OCS). While studying, Jason worked with the Temple University Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine team, Lung Center, and Burn Unit. He enjoys treating all conditions, but has a special interest in common injuries and complex surgical management of the shoulder and upper body. Dr. Brown also developed and runs TexPTS’ industrial medicine and wellness program at the Parmer clinic. In the Northeast, he enjoyed hiking along the Appalachian Trail, camping, mountain biking, river rafting, snow skiing and snowboarding. In Austin, Dr. Brown’s hobbies include boating and water sports, culinary arts, home brewing and woodworking. He also enjoys visiting family in Colorado, where he can hike and camp at elevation. Jason’s wife, Lisa, is a Registered Nurse with Seton Hospital. Their rescued Maine coon cat, Lady, and their rescued Boxer, Bentley, inspire them to keep active volunteering with the Austin Boxer Rescue.
I was born and raised in eastern NC, undergraduate and N.C. State, and graduate school at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. I have a beautiful bride of 5 years(Elise), 18 month old(Natalie), and one on the way(coming in March) along with a yellow lab. I have been a PT for 4 years and managing a new clinic, BreakThrough Physical Therapy in Wake Forest for 1.5 years now. I am looking forward to this course to learn more from a management perspective as I recognize this is an area I do not have much experience in
I am the clinic director at TexPTS in Selma, TX. My undergrad degree is in Athletic Training from Georgia Southern University (2010) and DPT from Armstrong Atlantic State University (2013) in Savannah GA. I am married to my PT school sweetheart, Danielle and we have an 8 month old son, Paxton. I am an ever aspiring endurance athlete, love GA sports (Falcons football, Braves baseball, ATL United Soccer & Georgia Southern sports), and am always up for anything outdoors.
Alyson Ellis was born in Youngstown, Ohio and received her clinical doctorate in Physical Therapy from Youngstown State University. She completed the orthopaedic residency through EIM in 2015 and earned her OCS and TPS in 2016. Currently, she is a clinic director for Texas Physical Therapy Specialists–Leading both the Gruene and New Braunfels clinics.
Aaron Goelzhauser received his Bachelors of Science from Indiana University in 2010 where he majored in Exercise Science. Following graduation from IU he began his formal training at University of Indianapolis working towards his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) and completed the program in May of 2013. Aaron sought to continue his learning and enrolled in an Orthopaedic Residency through Evidence In Motion, completing the program in December of 2015. Aaron joined ProRehab in Boonivlle, IN, in 2013. Shoulder and ankle dysfunction are special areas of interest and he frequently attends continuing education courses designed to expand his current knowledge. He enjoys challenging himself with his work and striving to enable individuals to get back to their desired level of function. Aaron is originally from Newburgh, IN. He spends most of his free time with his wife and daughter. He also enjoys traveling with his family, golfing, spending time with friends, and working to maintain his home.
Ashley Gutierrez, PT, DPT, OCS is a co-owner of Physical Therapy Central in Blanchard, OK. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in May 2011 and has been practicing in outpatient orthopedics for the past 6 years. She is married and has a two year old son and 10 month old little girl. She is very excited to begin this course and learn more about the whirlwind of private practice!
Dr. Leake received her undergraduate degree from the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs in 2002 and was accepted to the US Army Baylor Physical Therapy Program in San Antonio, Texas, where she graduated with her Masters degree in 2004. She went on to obtain her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Baylor University in 2007. In 2007, she also received her board certification as an Orthopaedic Certified Specialist (OCS). Dr. Leake has been practicing physical therapy for over 10 years and was a provider in the US Air Force from 2004 until 2012. During this time she practiced in a variety of settings including direct access physical therapy, acute care in a trauma center, physical therapy in a deployed clinic, and as an orthopaedic specialist in the outpatient setting. She also had the opportunity to provide musculoskeletal care to prisoners of war in a detention center in Afganistan. Dr. Leake established and developed a Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic in Anchorage, Alaska where she practiced before leaving the Air Force and returning to Austin, Texas to join the TexPTS team. Prior to moving to Austin, Victoria ran a TexPTS clinic in San Antonio where she served the Stone Oak area and specialized in Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic aftercare with a emphasis on shoulder rehabilitation. Dr. Leake enjoys running her growing clinic in the North Austin area and experiencing all that Austin has to offer. In her spare time, she runs Town Lake, paddle boards, participates in her church community and enjoys going on culinary adventures around the city.
My name is John Morello. I’ve been with TexPTS for almost 4 years and have been the director of our Bulverde/Spring Branch location for just over a year now after being in the Stone Oak location. I’ve done the manual cert and OCS prep through EIM along the way. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I did my undergraduate from Texas A&M in 2008 and was part of the Corps of Cadets. My DPT is from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia in 2013. I have a 3 yr old son and an extremely smiley 8-month- old daughter with my wife.
Hi there. My name is Ryan Nall. I practice with ProActive Physical Therapy in Vancouver, WA. I have been with ProActive for 9 years and love the people, environment, and growth opportunities that I am provided with each and every day going to work. I direct our East Vancouver clinic and have been a partner with ProActive for 3 years. I have a beautiful wife named Rheba and we are expecting a boy in 5 weeks, coming up quick! I have a 15 year old stepdaughter named Haley who is amazing and keeps me on my toes every day. Christy was born and raised in The Woodlands, Texas (a suburb north of Houston), along with an identical twin sister and two older sisters. Growing up, Christy participated in numerous sports including competitive swimming, gymnastics, cheerleading, dance, basketball, softball, and cross country. She attended The Woodlands High School where she lettered four years as a dancer on The Woodlands High School Highstepper dance team.
Christy discovered her interest in physical therapy in seventh grade after a sports injury that required her to participate in rehab. In high school, she pursued learning more about physical therapy by completing an internship at a local hospital with an adjacent outpatient physical therapy clinic.
Christy attended The University of Oklahoma for her undergraduate studies and graduated with distinction in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Studies. She earned her Masters of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Oklahoma’s Health Sciences Center in 2010 where she was named to the Dean’s Honor Roll. Christy continued to work full time while she completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and finished a one and a half year Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency program through Evidence in Motion in June of 2013. Through this program, Christy has received advanced education in orthopaedics. Christy then became Board Certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy in 2014, a distinction limited to less than 5% of actively practicing Physical Therapists. Her areas of interest in physical therapy include outpatient orthopaedics, manual therapy, sports injuries and rehabilitation, pediatric physical therapy, and spinal dysfunction.
Christy is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and is on the executive committee of the Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association. She currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Western District of the Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association as an elected officer in promoting leadership, education, and networking for the profession.
Outside of work, Christy volunteers to provide physical therapy services for sporting events for athletes. She volunteers on the medical staff for local marathons in Texas and Oklahoma. She has also volunteered on the medical staff since 2008 for the Endeavor Games held in Edmond, OK, for athletes with physical disabilities. She also had the opportunity to volunteer as part of the medical staff for the World Sitting Volleyball Championship in Edmond, OK in 2010.
Christy married the love of her life on July 13th, 2013. She now enjoys living in Edmond, OK, with her husband. She also frequently visits her parents in Edmond, her twin sister in Boston, MA, and her older sisters who live in Denver, CO, and The Woodlands, TX. In her free time, Christy loves spending time with her husband, her family, and her friends. She loves running outside for exercise and participating in races including events at the annual OKC Memorial Marathon. Christy enjoys health/fitness, the outdoors, water skiing and wakeboarding, snow skiing/boarding, dancing, cooking/baking, and being involved at her church.

Katie was born and raised in Cheyenne, WY. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health Promotion from the University of Wyoming. She moved to Utah in pursuit of her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions and graduated in 2013. Her clinical training included inpatient and an extended term in outpatient orthopedic care under a fellowship trained therapist.
She started her career with Physical Therapy Central and is now partnered as the owner of the Guthrie clinic. Katie obtained her Manual Therapy Certification in 2015 and designation as a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedics in 2016 through Evidence In Motion’s Manual Therapy Certification Program. She also has specialized training with Trigger Point Dry Needling. Katie is an active member of the APTA since 2010, and OPTA since 2014. She is a member of the Guthrie Chamber of Commerce and serves on the chamber board. She loves to be active in the community and providing support where ever it is needed.
Outside of physical therapy her passions include spending time with family and friends, camping, spending time outdoors, and playing sports including volleyball, basketball, and soccer.
I graduated from the University of Oklahoma for both my undergraduate and for physical therapy school. After graduating in 2007, I worked for Select Physical Therapy in Richardson, Texas for four years. In 2010, I recieved my OCS. In 2011, I relocated back to Oklahoma to take a position with Physical Therapy Central. I have been a local owner in Moore, OK since 2014. I completed my fellowship training with NAIOMT in 2014. My wife Holly is a family and marriage therapist who is a diehard Texas A&M alumni. We have two boys, Jonah and Ellis who are 3 and 2 y/o respectively. We play very hard and are outside frequently playing, running, and trail riding (bikes).
Lucas was born and raised in Brazil and moved to the United States in 2005. He earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy and completed residency training in both Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy at the Catholic University in Campinas, Brazil. Before moving to the states, Lucas gained extensive experience while working with patients of all ages with orthopaedic issues, as well as professional athletes.
Lucas earned his Masters of Science degree in Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation through the University of Pittsburgh. While in school at the University of Pittsburg, he served as a graduate student researcher and participated as a trial coordinator in a large-scale knee osteoarthritis study.
A lifelong learner, Lucas continues to enhance his skills in spinal manipulation through postgraduate training and has recently received his certification in Myofascial Trigger Point Dry Needling. This technique is proven to help with a variety of orthopaedic injuries, such as tendonosis, and the management of acute and chronic pain. Lucas recently completed fellowship training with Evidence In Motion, placing him among the ranks of the best Physios in the country.
When he’s not treating patients, Lucas loves playing soccer and volleyball. He also enjoys cooking, going to the beach, and spending time with his family.

My name is Chris Tutt and I, along with Steve Alstot, am one of the CEOs of ProActive Physical Therapy in Oregon and Washington. We currently have 10 locations and have been open since 2002 and partners with Confluent since May of 2017. I’ve been married for just over 20 years and have 2 daughters, Amy who is 15 yo and Annalie who is 13 yo. I received my bachelor’s degree in General Science from Oregon State in 1991 my Master’s degree (yes, I’m that old) in Physical Therapy from Chapman University/Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles in 1992, and my MBA from Troy State University in 2001. When I’m not working I love to go mountain biking, hike, camp, read, go to the beach, spend time with my family, and take my telescope into the Mojave desert for some overnight star and galaxy gazing.
My name is Matt Ware, and I am a 7-year veteran with BreakThrough in Morehead City, North Carolina. I am the clinic manager in Morehead, and Triad region manager which currently includes 5 clinics. I completed the Orthopaedic residency and transitional Doctorate with Evidence In Motion in 2013, became Board Certified in Orthopaedics in 2015. I currently live near the water in coastal NC, but likely will be transitioning inland with BreakThrough this Fall.
I was born and raised in Oklahoma but attended PT school at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. Following graduation, I returned to my home state and have practiced outpatient therapy since 2008. I’ve managed PT Central’s NW Oklahoma City clinic since 2014 and have previously completed EIM’s OCS Residency. I thoroughly enjoy traveling, being outdoors, and spending time with my wife, son (almost 4) and daughter (almost 2) during my down time from the busy outpatient world. Jamie was born and raised in Elkhart, Kansas where she attended high school and was a multiple time All-State athlete in volleyball and basketball. She went on to play division I college basketball at the University of Oklahoma where she helped the 2002 team advance to the national championship game. Jamie graduated from OU with distinction in 2003 with her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. She went on to earn her Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in 2007, where she graduated with outstanding distinction.
Jamie has been actively involved in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association (OPTA) since 2004 and is currently a member of the women’s health, orthopedic and private practice sections of the APTA. Jamie is an APTA credentialed clinical instructor and loves working with students. Jamie joined Physical Therapy Central in 2008, and in 2009 she became co-owner of the Midtown Physical Therapy Central clinic.
Jamie’s areas of interest include post-op orthopedics rehabilitation, prevention and rehabilitation of running and sports injuries, spinal dysfunction, women’s health, and manual therapy. Jamie has completed several orthopedic and manual therapy based continuing education courses and is certified in trigger point dry needling. She has also completed APTA’s Level One Pre-and Postpartum Physical Therapy coursework. In 2010, Jamie became Board Certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy.
Outside the clinic, Jamie enjoys spending time with her husband Patrick, twin boys, Cole and Carter, and daughter Claire. Jamie enjoys OU athletics, running, being outside, and overall health and fitness.
