This week on the Clinical Podcast, we’re joined by Jamie Lee! Jamie graduated with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Marquette University, then pursued an orthopaedic residency. However, while practicing as a PT, he returned to school and got his nursing degree. Jamie, Mark, and John discuss how his unique background has influenced how he treats his patients.
Jamie has a unique educational background, as he has obtained both a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and a Master of Science in Nursing. He has a diverse skill set and is one of only a few clinicians who are licensed as a physical therapist and a registered nurse. Jamie completed a full-time orthopedic residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center, and he is a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS). Furthermore, he holds distinction as an emergency department nurse and a clinical nurse leader (CNL), making him equipped in emergency medicine with a focus on improved patient outcomes. Whether the person has acute or chronic medical conditions, or rehabilitative needs, he is able to holistically care for patients across the lifespan. He is always looking for opportunities where he can blend and utilize both skills.
