Clinical Podcast: Adopting Telehealth Initiatives | Dr. Alan Lee

This week on the EIM Clinical Podcast, Dr. John Childs and Dr. Jeff Moore welcome Dr. Alan Lee, an Associate Professor at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles, to discuss telehealth and where we are as a profession in being able to adopt telehealth initiatives. They will also talk about some of the regulatory and payment challenges, and what the future looks like for telehealth.

Dr. Lee was the recipient of the American Physical Therapy Association’s Minority Faculty Award in 2008 and Adopt-A-Doc Award in 2011 for his research on social responsibility and cultural competence in physical therapy. He conducts NIDRR-funded telehealth international research with University of Pittsburgh and lectures nationally on telehealth practice for physical therapists. His teaching includes management of patients with integumentary conditions, geriatrics, medical screening, and acute care practice. He maintains clinical practice at Scripps Mercy Hospital with dual board certifications in geriatrics and wound management and serves as a telehealth PT advisor to Bluejay Mobile Health, Inc. This telehealth portal firm is supported as a business associate with California PT Association.
