Introduction to EBP
A one hour online presentation of EBP, by one of the Evidence in Motion authors. EBP results in more standardized care that translates into fewer visits, lower costs, and improved outcomes. It includes:
EBP Overview Definitions Why the Emphasis How EIM's pre processed evidence can be easily implemented
EBP Online Course - A hands-on, online course which summarizes evidence used in the treatment of conditions commonly encountered in physical therapy practice, while outlining the deficiencies present in current therapies. This online course can be completed before or after the Introduction to EBP presentation, and requires each therapist to pass quizzes and critically appraise and grade selected literature using a hierarchy of evidence. This course and its related exercises help facilitate the integration of Evidence Based Practice into a client's clinic operation.
Pre-Processed Evidence - Our clients are branded an EBP provider of care. We provide our client's organization with a certification to use our pre-processed evidence summaries customized with its practice logo. These pre-processed evidence summaries are presented in the format of Problem, Intervention, Evidence, and Referral, commonly referred to as "PIERs". The PIERs are paired with other materials (automated ppt tutorials, newsletters, articles and branded criteria-based referral script pads) focused on marketing and education that can be used as individual products or in combination with the PIERs. The criteria-based referral guide is a one-page, highly condensed and bulleted information sheet linked to the script pad. It answers frequently asked questions posed by primary care referral sources, such as "Who should I send to physical therapy?", "What interventions are most effective?"
Marketing - We provide our clients with instantly deployable "how to" tools for marketing the EBP concept to referral sources, patients, and third-party payors. In addition, our clients are equipped with proven, effective, strategies on how to market EBP to insurance companies, referral sources, and patients. These methods and tools include frequently asked questions, newsletters, published literature, hyperlinked interactive powerpoint presentations, and presentation approaches. Our clients also have exclusive rights to purchase branded direct mail marketing pieces for individual PIERs that have been professionally developed by advertising professionals exclusively for EIM.
Consultation Visits & Seminars - One on-site or web-based seminar will be provided by an Evidence in Motion author addressing EBP and its integration into a physical therapy practice. A second seminar, also provided by an Evidence in Motion author, provides the clients and their referral sources, payors, case managers, nurses, etc. evidence-based reviews summarizing which patients benefit from physical therapy referral and what distinguishes our client's practice as evidence-based. Specific EBP related business and marketing related issues will also be presented.
Leveraged Technology - Flash drive storage of branded PIER material for distribution, Articulated® PIER presentations by EIM authors and on-line meeting room opportunities minimize the burden of implementing EBP while maximizing its deployment and assimilation.
