A Treatment Based Classification Approach for Low Back Pain with Evidence-Based Introduction to Spinal Manipulation

Patients with low back and pelvic/hip pain make up nearly 50% of all patients receiving outpatient physical therapy. Students will acquire skills in clinical examination, evaluation, diagnosis, and selected interventions of the lumbopelvic spine and hip. A treatment based classification approach is described and provides structure to the course. Extensive laboratory sessions are included to achieve proficiency in selected manual physical therapy interventions, therapeutic exercise and traction. Online material is viewed in advance of a live 12 hour session that focuses on development of psychomotor skills, with follow up material viewed after the live session.
Emergency Response Course
EIM's Emergency Response Course (ERC) integrates the objectives set forth by the American Red Cross and the Department of Transportation for Emergency Response. It is designed specifically for physical therapists who provide athletic venue coverage and respond to acute injuries. The class includes assessment, management and prevention of cardio-respiratory emergencies, musculoskeletal injury, medical emergencies such as shock or diabetic reactions, and environmental injuries. EIM's ERC fulfills the physical therapist eligibility requirements for Sports Physical Therapy Residency Programs and application submission for the ABPTS- SCS exam.
Evidence-based Examination and Selected Interventions for Patients with Cervical Spine Disorders
Patients with neck pain make up approximately 25% of all patients receiving outpatient physical therapy, with the economic burden of managing this condition being second only to low back pain. Join your colleagues in this hands-on, evidence-based course that integrates your clinical expertise with the most the current perspectives in physical therapy clinical examination and interventions for the cervical and thoracic spine. Spend two days refining and advancing your skills in clinical examination, evaluation, diagnosis, and selected interventions. Extensive laboratory sessions are included throughout the two days to achieve proficiency in selected manual physical therapy interventions. This course is open to licensed physical therapists only.
Evidence-based Examination and Selected Interventions for Patients with Lower Extremity Disorders
Patients with a primary report of hip, knee or ankle pain make up a significant portion of all patients receiving outpatient physical therapy. Partner with us in this hands-on, evidence-based seminar that integrates your clinical expertise with current evidence for physical therapy clinical examination and interventions for the hip, knee and ankle. You will spend two days enhancing your skills in clinical examination, diagnosis, and selected interventions. Extensive laboratory sessions are included to achieve proficiency in selected thrust and non-thrust manual physical therapy interventions as well as exercise application. This course is open to licensed physical therapists only.

Patients with pain in the shoulder, elbow or wrist/hand make up a significant portion of all patients seen receiving outpatient physical therapy. Partner with us in this hands-on, evidence-based seminar that integrates your clinical expertise with current evidence for physical therapy clinical examination and interventions for the shoulder, elbow wrist and hand. You will spend two days enhancing your skills in clinical examination, diagnosis, and selected interventions. Extensive laboratory sessions are included to achieve proficiency in selected thrust and non-thrust manual physical therapy interventions. This course is open to licensed physical therapists only.
Evidence-based Sports Physical Therapy Competencies
Sports Physical Therapy is a specialized practice that focuses on prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement of the physically-active individual. In order to become a productive member of a sports medicine team, the sports physical therapist needs to be versed in many facets of care of the athlete. Many of these facets will be covered in this course including: Preventive and supportive taping; Pre-participation Screenings; Functional Movement Screenings including corrective exercise prescription; Evaluation, instruction and treatment of Athletic Movement.
