Unfortunately, there is very little data to suggest that continuing education results in more consistent evidence-based practice patterns. However, Evidence in Motion does not offer your everyday continuing
education course. Current best evidence is constantly evolving and being
refined (hence the name, Evidence in Motion), which serves to better inform best
practice. Many continuing education providers teach the same material today that they did 20 years ago. On the other hand, we work painstakingly hard to integrate the latest best evidence throughout our course materials. For example,
if high quality evidence with important implications for decsision-making has been published
during the week before a course, we will work diligently to incorporate this information
in time for the course.
We also utilize evidence-based educational and learning strategies that
will enhance your ability to immediately translate what you learn into the care of your patients.
To accomplish this, all courses include a significant hands-on lab component that
emphasize the development of the psychomotor examination and interventions skills necessary for evidence-based
physical therapist practice. The extent to which you are able to immediately incorporate what you learn
into clinical practice to improve the care of your patients will be the marker of our success. In fact, continuing
education that does not influence your decision-making and practice patterns when you return to the clinic is an exercise
in futility, a waste of your and your family's time, and a complete waste of your personal and/or employer's continuing
education funds.
Our course offerings are also intentionally limited to maximize interaction with course faculty. We also
adhere to the belief that to effectively communicate the translation of evidence into practice, faculty must themselves be involved
in scholarly activity and professional service. These stringent criteria further limit course offerings.
We think you will agree that the end result of maintaining these standards is well worth the effort.

Are
you frustrated by the lack of evidence from the peer-reviewed
literature incorporated into traditional continuing education?
Are
you frustrated by attending continuing education
courses but then never being able to figure out how
to apply what you have learned in practice?
Would
you like to learn current evidence and how it can be translated
into your practice patterns to optimize outcomes and costs
of care? |

Desire
to make evidence-based practice an immediate reality
in your clinical practice.
Want
to enhance your critical thinking and psychomotor
skills to improve decision-making and outcomes
of care.
Desire
to learn from faculty who are widely published in the peer-reviewed
literature .
Evidence in Motion confers continuing education credits for participants
completing our courses. A certificate of completion will be distributed
at the end of the course. These CEUs are accepted by most state
licensing bodies toward maintaning professional licensure. |

Are
turned off by relevant details of studies and would
rather be prescriptively told what to do.
Enjoy
courses taught by "gurus" who believe their
clinical experience transcends current best
evidence.
Prefer
courses that teach the latest fad rehabilitation
strategies with little regard for whether
evidence exists to support their effectiveness.
Because of the limited number of faculty who teach in our courses,
course offerings are limited. We also limit registration to provide
maximum interaction with course faculty and allow for hands-on
instruction. Admission is on a first-come/first-served, space-available
basis. Early registration is recommended to insure you are able
to reserve a seat. |
